Hakone Kowaki-en-Hotel

Hakone, Japan

April 29 and 30, 2002

There were cherry blossoms and azaleas in bloom among the myriad of plants and trees.  What a way to wind down after a day of travel, but the best is yet to come.

The Japanese set the standards for cleanliness and the methods of getting there.  Bathing outside the tub while sitting on a stool, with or without help, makes sense.  While this is taking place, water is drawn for a leisurely soak.  Close to heaven!

Dotty meanwhile joined the girls for a bath then soaking in the communal hot springs pool.  They must have enjoyed themselves as they were gone a long time.  I opted for that route the next day but prefer the hotel room instead of soaking naked surrounded by other men.  Now, if it were coed that might make a difference!

Why haven't we in America adopted the toilet seat so common throughout Japan?  Try one and you'll never want to use anything else.  Imagine, a heated seat, warm water with adjustable flow to wash private parts front and rear, sound attenuator, deodorizer and finally, automatic seat repositioning.  What more could you ask for!!  Incidentally, the seats fit on most any American toilet.  It is connected to the existing water supply and a standard 110 volt outlet.  Once I have installed ours I might become a distributor!
