This place gets our vote as the number one treasure in China! Emperor Huandi was the first to unify all of China and must have recognized his importance judging the effort he made to protect himself.
It is difficult to visualize that each figure is actually life size. These pictures were taken in Pit 1 which is 230 meters long. The majority of soldiers are facing East as that is where the greatest potential for attack was expected to originate.
