The Cathedral is at the center of a cross. One short arm of the cross is the Plaza de Armas on the right with the Government Palace. The long part of the cross is to the rear with the Degollado Theater facing Liberation Plaza. Amid the trees on the left is the Plaza of Illustrious Men (now People.) Just below the red "X" below is our hotel. The small church next to our hotel is the red roofed building to the right.

The immaculate white interior with unpretentious gold leaf adornments evoked feelings of spirituality.
Beautiful stained glass windows behind the altar and in the ceiling filled the Cathedral with light.

Altar chairs were carved from beautifully grained wood.
