I have many heroes but the one I aspire to emulate in many respects is:

General Robert E. Lee, Virginian

He was the personification of Courage, Honor, Humility and Loyalty.   As a Gentleman, he had no superiors.  

Winston Churchill called Lee "One of the noblest Americans who ever lived."

General Lee was the president of Washington and Lee College when Kappa Alpha Fraternity was founded there in 1865.   He is thus considered KA's spiritual founder and its members pledge to aspire to the high standards he set.  I was a KA at the University of South Carolina.
