Dotty Brown outside the entrance to this magnificent building. It has 1,261 seats situated in such a manner as to afford excellent visibility to everyone. The acoustics are excellent. There was a chandelier weighing two tons whose beauty far exceeded the weight. The orchestra pit was very large, enough space for 80 musicians. Under every seat was a vent for hear or air. During the summer ice was placed in a tray for added comfort.
In the Buffet room reserved for Aristocracy we were treated to several classical pieces played on a piano and several arias sung by one of the opera singers. Most enjoyable!

Our young guide Sylvia was very knowledgeable about the Opera House and the performances held within. Her English was excellent. Other attributes are obvious!

Dotty would rather have had Pierce in person!
