This is the Marine Corps F-8 Crusader.  I am flying the lead aircraft on a mission off the coast of Cuba  during the little flap there in 1962. The F-8 is capable of near mach 2 airspeed. 

As a result of day & nite qualifications aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga, I have the utmost respect for Naval Aviators who operate from carriers. Thank you all for your skill, bravery and service to our country!
