I was the Operations Officer of HMM 265 in 1964 when the Marine Corps received its first CH 46 Sea Knight helicopters.  Our squadron deployed to Camp Drum, NY for cold weather trials early in 1965.  We were not disappointed!  The picture below was taken when I flew over one of the islands in the "Thousand Islands" region of the St. Lawrence River.  The castle supposedly was disassembled and moved, stone by stone, from its original home in Europe.

I also flew them on a second tour in Vietnam (1970-1971).
