In May, 1965, HMM 263 responded to a crisis in the Dominican Republic flying from the carrier U.S.S. Okinawa. 

I flew the H-34 on over 300 combat missions during my first tour in Vietnam (1965-1966) where I served as Operations Officer of HMM 263.
